Shillong, Jul 4: Shillong Lajong moved back to the top of the U-18 Shillong Premier League points table with a comfortable 5-0 victory over Nongkrem at the JN Stadium, Polo, today, while Nongrim Hills and Marbisu played out a 1-1 draw at Third Ground.
Lajong pumped in three goals in the first half via Dajied Wanshnong (13′), Saveme Tariang (28′) and Amon Lepcha (35′) and added another two in the second 45 minutes for a convincing result. The second half goals were scored by Sangti Janai Shianglong (67′) and Lepcha (80′).
SLFC are back at the top of the standings with 25 points, two ahead of second-placed Langsning. There is no way that they now cannot finish in the top two, thus guaranteeing them a place in the final.
Meanwhile, in the other match, Nongrim Hills went ahead in the 25th minute through Banshemphang Kurbah, but this was cancelled out by Steven Lyngdoh Kynshi just eight minutes later and 1-1 was how the game ended.
There will be just the one fixture tomorrow with Smit scheduled to take on Nangkiew Irat at 3:45PM at Third Ground.
