Shillong, Jul 16: Three Group A Third Division matches were held at Second Ground, Polo, today.
In the first match Umpling and Lamlynti played out a 1-1 draw. S Wanshnong put Umpling into the lead in the 42nd minute before M Jana equalised for Lamlynti in the 67th.
The second game saw Umphrup sweep past Risa Colony 3-0 with goals from N Nongbri (23′), W Nongbri (48′) and B Kharumnuid (54′).
The third and last match between Lumdiengjri and Krang saw the former win 2-0. R Lamare (23’) and A Warjri (30’) scored for Lumdiengjri.
With one round of matches remaining in this group, Umphrup are leading the way with nine points from four games. Umphrup have won their last three outings and have kept a clean sheet in each. Umpling, meanwhile, are in second with seven points and are the only team mathematically capable of knocking Umphrup off the top of the table.
