Shillong, Aug 3: The new Shillong Referees Society held a one-day clinic for football referees at Polo Ground here today.

It was organised in collaboration with the Meghalaya Football Association and Shillong Sports Association, with over 40 referees from Khasi-Jaintia Hills taking part.

The resource persons were two of the most accomplished referees in the state – Ricky Synnah and Ri-iohlang Dhar.

The clinic, which was conducted in Khasi, focused on newly-introduced rules of the game, referee conduct during matches and fitness, among other subjects.

The closing ceremony was also attended by MFA Treasurer Wanshan Kharkrang, who is also in charge of the association’s referee development programme.

Conducting the clinic meant that there were no SSA football matches today.
