Shillong, Aug 6: Sohiong claimed their second victory of the Second Division season with a 2-0 result over Sohryngkham in Group A at Third Ground, Polo, today.
With the match being deadlocked for more than 80 minutes, Sohiong suddenly gave it a bit of spark with two quick goals through B Jana (83′, 85′) to seal the contest. Jana now has five goals to his name this season.
Sohiong and Umphyrnai are now tied on six points each, though the latter have a game in hand, while Nongthymmai are at the top of the group with nine points. Sohryngkham, meanwhile, are still looking for their first victory after one draw and two defeats.
Tomorrow, in Group B, Nongumlong are scheduled to face Laitkor at 3:45PM.
