Shillong, Apr 4: Lamare SC won the final of the 1st Rev Liar Sirdar Football Tournament in Patharkmah, Ri-Bhoi, yesterday.
The final, played against Western Bhoi United, was taken to penalties after the full time score stood at 2-2. A couple of spot kicks blocked by goalkeeper Frolicson Dkhar and conversion of all of theirs saw Lamare win the shootout and claim the Rs 1 lakh in prize money and trophy, which was presented by Shillong MP Vincent Pala.
Pynbha Suting was named Best Player, Dkhar Best Goalkeeper and Dibinroy Nongspung Top Scorer.
The tournament, which was organised by the Ri Bhoi Youth Federation’s Western Zone unit, began on 20th December.
