Shillong, Sep 25: Tyllilang Basketball Academy and Shillong Labet (pictured) both made it through to the semifinals of the 5X5 Basketball Championship in Siliguri today.
The tournament is being organised by the Himalayan International Residential School in collaboration with Hoopsters Club.
Tyllilang had lost one and won one match yesterday and today’s contest against Power Cube was must-win. It wasn’t easy, with the Shillong team trailing in each quarter, but they pulled off a sensational 20-19 victory with their never-say-die attitude.
Meanwhile, Shillong Labet had just the one match yesterday, which they triumphed in. Today, they suffered a heavy 45-21 defeat in the morning but won the third and final group match by a stomping 48-6 margin over Kalimpong Girls.
The semifinals will be held on 26th September.
