Shillong, Oct 18: Pomlakrai booked their place in the semifinals of the Shillong Sports Association’s Fourth Division by storming to a 4-1 victory over Mawphlang at Polo Ground here today.
The first match of the day saw Pomlakrai needing a win to guarantee themselves a place in the last-four and they did that by scoring through Riborlang Marbaniang (21′), Phyrnaiborlang Sohtun (35′), Damanbha Nongrum (38′) and Pynskhemlang Jahrin (50′). Mawphlang then managed a consolation goal late in the 70-minute game through Arkynelson Wankhar (67′).
The second match then saw Diliengiem come from a goal down to defeat Mawnianglah 2-1.
The latter took the lead in the 26th minute via Hobbe Myrthong but two second half strikes from Wellborn Syiemiong (41′) and Monorable Kharmyndai (47′) gave Diliengiem victory.
After three rounds, Pomlakrai have seven points, followed by Diliengiem on six, Mawnianglah two and Mawphlang one.
