Shillong, Nov 3: Meghalaya were defeated by 40 runs by Nagaland in the Women’s Senior One Day Trophy in Kolkata today.
Nagaland made 169 all out after winning the toss and choosing to bat first in the Plate Group match. Neha Hajong claimed 3/16 in five overs, while Ajima Sangma (2/17) and Pinky Chanda (2/22) bagged a brace of wicket each. Sandria Momin (1/21) and Riticia Nongbet (1/26) were the other wicket-takers.
Five batters on the Meghalaya side got into double figures – guest players Rajni Lodhi (22) and Vaincy Chaudhary (17), Neha Hajong (17), Sangma (10), Luiza Tamang (10) – but no one could convert a start into something more. Meghalaya were thus dismissed for 129 in 43.4 overs.
Meghalaya will next play Jammu & Kashmir tomorrow.
