Shillong, Apr 12: Umphyrnai snatched three points with a late in the day goal to beat Imson 1-0 in the Shillong Sports Association’s First Division at Third Ground, Polo, here today.

The goal was scored by Damanglang Kharbyngar (90’+2).

This was Umphyrnai’s second win in a row and they are now second in the standings with 7 points, though they have played four games to everyone else’s three.

Imson, meanwhile, have now lost three on the trot and are still searching for their first point. Like their fellow strugglers Smit, they have scored zero goals while conceding five.

Either Lawsohtun (5 points) or Nongthymmai (6) could take second place away from Umphyrnai in tomorrow’s match.
