Shillong, May 25: Cricket Lovers defeated Sohra Combine by 46 runs in the first match of the restart to the East Khasi Hills’ Cricket Association’s T20 Tournament today. However, the second game was washed out.

The league was paused for two weeks due to the severe inclement weather that affected Meghalaya recently.

Cricket Lovers won the toss today and decided to bat first. Player-of-the-match Raj Kishore Yadav (pictured) smashed 56 off 39 balls while Amar Thapa struck 24 not out from 13 for Cricket Lovers to post 173/9 in their 20 overs. Kevin Diengdoh (3/22) and Nathaniel Pyngrope (2/18) were the most successful bowlers.

In reply, Sohra Combine were restricted to 127/6 in their 20 overs, with James Marbaniang making 43 and Mangkara Diengdoh 33. Muksodul Choudhury bagged 3/26 and Riboklang Hynniewta 2/16 in a successful bowling performance.

The second fixture began with Hurdles CC of Mawsynram batting first after winning the toss against Nongdawah CC of Mawryngkneng. However, Hurdles were only able to bat 4.4 overs (they got off to a rollicking 41/2 start) before rain intervened.

Sandy Stone Kharshandi and Bamanbha Shangpliang were both on 16 not out at the time while Moonlight War took 2/19.
