Shillong, Jun 9: Meghalaya trounced West Bengal 4-1 to conclude their Group B campaign in style at the football event of the Khelo India Youth Games today.

Meghalaya had already qualified for the semifinal round after winning their opening two fixtures but secured top spot in the group with their handsome victory.

Glennys Lynrah (23′, 37′) scored a brace while Fashioning Syngkli (13′) picked up his third goal in as many games. Chibaitki Pamthied made it 4-0 in the 47th minute before West Bengal pulled one back five minutes later.

Both semifinals will be held on Saturday.

Meghalaya will take on Kerala (the second-placed side from Group A) at 9AM while Mizoram will take on Karnataka in the other last-four match at 4PM.
