Shillong, Sep 15: The start of the second edition of the North East Olympic Games, which Shillong is set to host, will be delayed, Sports & Youth Affairs Minister Banteidor Lyngdoh informed today.
The Games were meant to run from 30th October to 6th November, with 18 disciplines spread across a dozen venues around Greater Shillong.
However, it now looks like that the event, which will bring together thousands of athletes from all eight North East states, will be pushed back by a week or so.
Lyngdoh today said that the decision was made at a committee meeting wherein it was decided that pushing the start date back would enable organisers to ready the venues and make other arrangements.
