Shillong, Oct 3: The three-day East Khasi Hills District State Ranking Men & Women Boxing Championship 2022 came to an end on Friday at Umlyngka.
The event began on 28th September and was organised by the Boxing Association of East Khasi Hills in collaboration with the Meghalaya Boxing Association and with the support of the District Sports Promotion Society.
There was a high level of excitement and some terrific boxing over the course of the three days, with cheering spectators urging the pugilists on.
Mylliem MLA and cabinet minister Hamletson Dohling was the chief guest on the final day. Also present were Umlyngka Rangbah Shnong Stephan Lyngdoh and MBA President Peter Lyngwi, among others.
Two boxers were chosen to receive the Best Boxer awards – Sanjeev Maskut from the men and Eva Waynie Marbaniang from the women. Marbaniang, of Riatsohkhlur, Nongkseh, was also presented with financial aid by Dohling as she is representing Meghalaya at the ongoing 36th National Games in Gujarat.

Gracynylla Marbaniang (48kg), Rikynti Marwein (50kg), Eva Waynie Marbaniang (52kg), Tredecia Lamare (54kg)
