Shillong, Feb 13: Laitjem CC and Hurdles CC won their respective matches on the second day of the East Khasi Hills Cricket Association’s 2nd District League T20 Cricket Tournament 2023 today.
In the first match of the day, Thangsning SCC won the toss and chose to bowl against Laitjem, who made an impressive 145/5 in their allotted 20 overs. Mebanshan Kharsati top-scored with 41, while Kitlyngkor Nongkhlaw bagged 2/23.
In reply, Thangsning were restricted to 128/8 in 20 overs. Badap Pura Nongkhlaw made 27 while Nangkham Khraw Pathaw took 3/16 as his team won by 17 runs. The Player of the Match was Anthony Pathaw.
The second fixture saw Hurdles bat first after winning the toss but were bowled out for 92 in 14.3 overs against Sohra Combine CC. The latter’s Mangkara Diengdoh scalped a superb 4/8, while Antonio Rapsang made 20 for Hurdles.
Despite the relatively small target, Sohra Combine lost too many wickets and were restricted to 85/9 after batting their full 20 overs. Diengdoh top-scored with 27 from 23 balls but that wasn’t enough for his team. Player of the Match Ricky Stone Nongbet claimed 3/10 for Hurdles, who won by 7 runs.
