Shillong, Jul 11: Kharang SC and Mawkasiang SSCC won their respective opening matches in Group B of the Shillong Sports Association’s U-20 Fourth Division at Third Ground, Polo, here today.
While Kharang pipped Madanrting SC 2-1, Mawkasiang blanked Laitumkhrah SC 2-0.
Jamshaphrang Kharsati put Kharang into the lead in the 44th minute before Madanrting equalised via Evening Tariang in the 56th. The next goal proved to be the winner and it was scored by Labonstar Tarow (65′) for Kharang.
In the second kick-off, Mawkasiang put two goals past Laitumkhrah via Klestern Roy Nongrum (18′) and Donald J Nongkhlaw (70′).
The next Fourth Division matches will take place on 19th July. In the meantime, the Women’s League will return tomorrow.
