Shillong, Sep 27: Kharang SC go into the quarterfinals of the Shillong Sports Association’s U-20 Fourth Division 2023 in top form after winning their last Group B fixture 2-0 against bottom side Mawreng SC at Third Ground, Polo, here today.
Gordon Basaiawmoit (44′, 45′) scored twice within seconds in the second half of the 70-minute match to give Kharang a fifth win out of six games, with their other match being a draw against Laitumkhrah SC.
Mawreng managed just 1 point this season in a draw with Madanrting SC.
The only teams capable of joining Kharang in the quarterfinals from this group are Mawkasiang SC and Nongkolew SC, who will play their final group game against each other tomorrow.
