Shillong, Oct 12: Tynring SC were the big winners in the Shillong Sports Association’s Third Division today, winning their Group D match 5-2 against Nongumlong SC at Polo here.
In the day’s other matches, Umlyngka SC edged Gorkha Association 1-0 in Group A, while Lumdiengjri SC defeated Lawmali Pyllun SC 2-1 in Group D.
Tynring had five different scorers today at First Ground – Mariabiang Kharmalki (2′), Korbar Nongspung (39′), Arborlang Nongpluh (48′), Bankitlang Kharkongor (57′) and Rahbor Synnah (83′). Both of Nongumlong’s goals were scored by Nehlang Kharsohnoh (27′, 54′).
Later, Umlyngka grabbed 3 points with a solitary goal by Chesterfield Makroh (75′) at First Ground, while, over at Third Ground, Lumdiengjri had to overturn a one goal deficit to beat Lawmali Pyllun.
It was Lawmali who took the lead in the seventh minute through Banganson Nongphlang but Lumdiengjri equalised and then took the lead in under 40 minutes thanks to Robin Pnar (32′) and Nick Roy Syiem (39′).
