Shillong, Feb 10: Malki SC bagged their second consecutive victory of the Shillong Sports Association’s First Division 2023 with a 2-0 win against Lawsohtun SC at First Ground, Polo, here today.
Both goals were scored by Fashioning Syngkli (6′, 30′) of Malki.
The two teams are experiencing contrasting fortunes. Malki had lost their opening two games and were even a goal down against Umphyrnai SC the last time out but then clawed their way back in that match before beating Lawsohtun today.
Lawsohtun, meanwhile, had picked up 4 points from their first two games but have now lost two in a row.
Today’s result means that Malki are up to fourth in the standings with 6 points. They are tied with Mylliem SC but the latter have a better goal difference (+3 to 0). Lawsohtun have dropped a position to fifth out of the seven participating clubs.
The next scheduled fixture will be on 13th February between Umphyrnai SC and Laitkor SC at 2:45PM.
