Shillong, Mar 3: Jaguar FC reached the semifinals of the 2nd Shortimai Knockout Football Tournament after they edged Synroplang Laitkor 4-3 on penalties in the first quarterfinal fixture held in Smit yesterday.
Synroplang took the lead in the 28th minute via Giovani Syiemiong and held on for more than half an hour until Donlad Diengdoh (61′) equalised for the Jaguars.
The score remained 1-1 until the whistle and the match had to be decided on penalties, which Jaguar FC won 4-3.
Synroplang’s Tyllilang Nongsiej (pictured) was adjudged Player of the Match and received his award from the Sordar Shnong Smit, Pynshongdor Lyngdoh Nongbri.
The second quarterfinal will be on 7th March between Umphrup SC and Ehrngiew FC at 1PM.
