Shillong, Mar 24: Ehrngiew FC won the second semifinal of the 2nd Shortimai Knockout Football Tournament in Smit yesterday 2-1 against Mihpli United.
Ehrngiew will meet Jaguar FC in the final on 30th March at 1PM. The Jaguars had won the first semi versus Lumkynsai FC last week.
Aibiangmame Nengnong found the opening goal in the 52nd minute off a Restom Khriam free-kick. Ehrngiew continued to dominate proceedings and Robert Khongjoh added a second goal in the 78th minute.
However, Mihpli United fought tremendously hard and their perseverance was rewarded with a goal in the 82nd minute (name of scorer not provided by organisers), though they couldn’t find a way to restore parity.
Aibiang was named Player of the Match (pictured) and his award was presented by Rediampaul Kharbynar, the General Secretary of the Seng Samla Smit Pyllun.
