Shillong, Apr 29: Mawsynram Pink Panthers defeated Sohra Super Nova by five wickets in the East Khasi Hills Cricket Association’s U-17 Girls Inter Zonal Cricket Tournament 2024 in Smit today.

Sohra will have a chance to get even, however, as the two will meet in the final on 1st May.

Today, Super Nova won the toss and chose to bat first but were restricted to 109/6 in their allotted 20 overs. Adela Kmen Laway top-scored with 43, while Laphibanri Syiemlieh took 2/26 in 4 overs.

It was a gettable score, as the Pink Panthers chased it down to win in 17.2 overs for the loss of five wickets. Player of the Match Eliza Lyngdoh (pictured) led the way with a scintillating knock of 58 from 52 deliveries. Adela bowled economically and claimed 1/10 in 4 overs with the ball.

The final will take place from 8:30AM at the Shortimai Syiem Stadium in Smit on 1st May. This will be followed by the Benjamin Diengdoh Memorial U-15 Boys Inter Cluster T20 Cricket Tournament 2024 final from 12PM, which will also feature teams from Sohra and Mawsynram in the title match.
