Shillong, Jun 11: The District Level Subroto Mukherjee Cup in East Jaintia Hills began today at Madan Deinchynrum, organised by the office of the District Sports Officer.
There are 14 U-15 boys’ teams, 10 U-17 girls’ teams and 22 U-17 boys’ teams taking part this year.
Khliehriat Higher Secondary School had a walkover in the U-17 boys’ category and were awarded a 3-0 win against KB Memorial Secondary School as a result.
Sham Sham Secondary School defeated Dkhiah Presbyterian Secondary School 4-2 on penalties after regulation time ended goalless in their U-17 boys’ match.
In the same category, Divine Word Secondary School blanked Musniang Secondary School 2-0 with goals by Mebanker Sumer (43′) and Adarsh Singh (60’+2).
