Shillong, Jul 15: Diengpasoh SC and Nongthymmai Raitnongkynrih SC claimed the lead of Groups C and F respectively after winning in the Shillong Sports Association’s U-20 Fourth Division 2024 at Polo here today.
Diengpasoh won with a solitary goal over Pommura SC scored by Banpynkmen Kharsati in the 49th minute at First Ground.
Earlier, at the same ground and also in Group C, Lummawbah SC defeated Mawphlang SC 2-1. Andrew Maring (1′) and Rickymond Muktieh (65′) found the back of the net on either side of Iaidonkupar Kurbah’s 41st minute goal for Mawphlang.
The result dropped Mawphlang from first to third place and lifted Lummawbah to second, with each having a game to go.
Finally, at Third Ground, Madan S&CC took an early lead via Wankmen Lyngdoh (4′) but this was cancelled out just five minutes later by Nongthymmai Raitnongkynrih’s Arman Chettri (9′). His team mate Iashanskhem Marbaniang (49′) provided the winner in the second half.
Nongthymmai Raitnongkynrih now hold the provisional lead in Group C by 1 point over Madan S&CC.
