Shillong, Aug 27: Pomlakrai SC and Mawpat SC won their respective matches in the Shillong Sports Association’s Third Division 2024 at First Ground, Polo, here today.
In Group A, Pomlakrai edged Nongmensong SC 1-0 while Group B saw Mawpat come from a goal down to beat Lumparing SC 3-1.
Pomlakrai’s goal was scored by Edawanmi Wahlang in the 20th minute. Pomlakrai had lost their first match to Mawryngkneng SC 3-0 while Nongmensong had beaten Lapalang SC 3-1.
Mawpat, meanwhile, had a brace of goals scored by Dikorta Nongrum (57′, 81′) following a first half strike by Everson Malieh (34′). These goals came after one of their team mates conceded an own goal in the 15th minute to put Lumparing into the lead.
Lumparing had won their opening fixture 5-0 against Krang SC while Mawpat had drawn theirs 0-0 with Iaityllilang SC.
