Shillong, Sep 7: Evergreen SC needed a tiebreaker to beat Brothers United in the 8th Invitation Knockout Football Tournament, organised by Wahiajer SC, today.
After normal time ended 2-2, Evergreen won the shootout 3-2.
Wompher Phawa scored twice in regular play, in the 13th and 38th minutes. Wanbha (only one name provided) had opened Brothers Utd’s account in the fourth minute and Pynbha Nongrum (58′) had scored the second of his side’s goals.
Wompher was named Player of the Match.
The next fixture will be held on 12th September between Ummulong SC and Mission SC of Mawryngkneng at 2PM.
