Shillong, Oct 25: Shillong Lajong FC have a little less than one month before the first of their I-League 2024-25 matches, which will be at home against Churchill Brothers on 24th November.
The All India Football Federation released the season’s fixtures yesterday.
According to them, Lajong’s home matches will be played on the natural turf of the JN Stadium and not, contrary to what we’d been hearing, the artificial turf of the SSA Stadium at First Ground.
Seven out of the first eight matches will take place at home. There is also a series of six away games before SLFC return home for the final two fixtures. The dates of these haven’t been pinpointed, with only a range of potential dates provided by the AIFF.
The 12-team league will be played from November through December, January, February, and March, ending on 6th April 2025. Sporting Club Bengaluru and Dempo SC are the two new entrants into the league after finishing as champions and runners-ups of the 2023-24 I-League 2.
Lajong had finished eighth out of 13 teams in I-League 2023-24.
