Shillong, Nov 8: Nongkseh twice held the lead but had to share spoils with Mawtawar SC in a 2-2 draw in the Shillong Sports Association’s First Division 2024 at First Ground, Polo, today.

Chasing a win that would have put them at the top of the standings, Nongkseh went ahead in the 36th minute via an own goal only to have the lead cancelled out in stoppage time by Khrawkupar Nongbri (45’+2).

Chesterpaul Lyngdoh then restored Nongkseh’s lead in the 63rd minute but, once again, Khrawkupar came to the rescue and equalised for Mawtawar in the 86th minute.

The result means that Mawtawar continue with their grip on first place – they have 11 points – while Nongkseh are up to fourth with 8 points. Both teams have played five matches each.
