Shillong, Aug 20: Meghalaya won their opening match in the U-17 girls’ category of the Subroto Cup 2025 in New Delhi this morning.
Meghalaya are being represented by Nongjri Presbyterian Secondary School of Ri-Bhoi at the tournament and defeated the International Sports Schools Organisation 5-0 in Pool D today.
Daphi Syngkli scored a hat-trick while Rimika Khongkai and Baiaiteilut Mangu netted one apiece.
Only the top team from each pool will qualify for the quarterfinals, so this was an excellent start to the tournament.
Meghalaya will face Chandigarh in their second match tomorrow at 6:15AM.
