Shillong, Oct 7: Alisha Lyngdoh and Bonifilia Shullai (pictured left and right) have been included in coach Joakim Alexandersson’s 23-member Indian squad for the AFC U-17 Women’s Asian Cup China 2025 qualifiers, it was announced by the All India Football Federation yesterday.
The qualifiers will be held between 13th and 17th October in the Kyrgyzstan capital Bishkek.
Both Alisha and Bonifilia had impressed in August’s SAFF U-17 Women’s Championship 2025, which India won.
Placed in a three-team Group G, India will face hosts Kyrgyzstan on 13th October and Uzbekistan on 17th October. Both games will be played at the Dolen Omurzakov Stadium and will kick off at 6:30PM India time. The group winners will qualify for the 12-team final tournament in China next year.
After winning the SAFF Championship in Bhutan, the Young Tigresses continued their training camp in Bengaluru before shifting base to Goa. They are set to arrive in Bishkek today well in advance of their first match in order to acclimatise to the relatively cooler weather in the Central Asian nation.
