Shillong, Nov 1: The three-day 4th North East Masters Table Tennis Tournament 2025 was held in Pasighat.
Meghalaya sent a 15-member contingent under team manager Sudesh Pradhan that garnered much success.
In the 60-year-plus category the Meghalaya team comprising Santanu Ghosh, Harendra Singha, Arup Nag and Surjya Pyngrope picked up bronze.
The pair of Ghosh and Nag took bronze in the 60-year-plus doubles category.
Kynshanborlang Ranee participated in this tournament for the first time and claimed a silver in 50-year-plus doubles with partner Sarwan Gareri and bronze in the singles of the same age category.
Ranee is a former state champion.
Meanwhile, Arunachal Pradesh picked up a medal in the 60+ category for the first time. The new champion of the 40-plus category was Kaushik Phukan of Assam, while five-time national champion Mita Sinha Roy took part for the first time in the 50+ category and won gold. Carfew Roy, who was part of the Indian team in his heyday, participated in the 60+ category this year.
