Shillong, Jan 28: Donkins CC defeated Lawsohtun CC by three wickets in the final of the Shillong Cricket League’s First Division 2025-26 here yesterday.
Batting first after winning the toss, Lawsohtun were dismissed for 135 in 36 overs and Donkins chased this down in 30.3 overs for the loss of seven wickets.
The chase was led by Bhuwan Thapa, who made 50 from 54 deliveries while Agreas Chamcham Sangma made 28 from 47. Hilarious Thabah took 3/27 in 8 overs, while Peter Lyngkhoi claimed 2/31 in 8.
Peter had earlier top-scored for Lawsohtun with 42 from 74 deliveries, while Edmund Dhar chipped in with 21 from 36. Agreas took 3/16 in 8 overs for Donkins, while Pynkop Bonney bagged 3/16 in 4 overs.
For his all-round effort, Agreas was named Player of the Final. Hilarious was the tournament’s Best Bowler, while Rohit Rai of Donkins was the Player of the Tournament.
The chief guest was Meghalaya Cricket Association Honorary Secretary Rayonald Kharkamni, while the guest of honour was MCA Honorary Treasurer Eddystone Shylla.
As champions Donkins were awarded Rs 35,000 in prize money, while Lawsohtun received Rs 17,500.
