Shillong, Feb 25: A fast-paced century from Rector Iawim led Sohra Police Combine to victory by 80 runs against Saitsohpen Veteran Legends in Group C of the East Khasi Hills Cricket Association’s 5th District League T20 Cricket Tournament 2026 at Saitsohpen, Sohra, today.
The other match of the day, in Group D, saw Seng Samla Saitsohpen defeat Mawmluh CC by six wickets.
Sohra Police won the toss and chose to bat first and they were able to build up a total of 187/5 in 20 overs. Rector smacked 109 off just 59 deliveries, while Habaioh Riahtam took 2/16 in 2 overs.
In reply, Saitsohpen Veterans were restricted to 107/6 in their 20 overs, with 24 from Ivan Maxwell being the top score. Bantiplang Kharshiing bagged 3/20 in 4 overs. Rector was named Player of the Match.
Earlier, Mawmluh chose to bat first on winning the toss but were kept down to 118/9 in 20 overs. Aiban Tyngshain Rajee made 20 from 21 balls, while eventual Player of the Match Dame Kharmalki claimed 3/26 in 4 overs.
The target did not trouble Saitsohpen too much at all as they reached it in just 13.2 overs for the loss of four wickets. Mebankyrshan Allya top-scored with from 56 from 29 balls. Dakerlang Sohkhlet took 2/18 in 3 overs.
