Shillong, Mar 19: Langsning XI CCand Rhinoland Cricket Academy won their respective matches in the 1st Late PA Sangma Memorial T20 Tournament, organised by the Shillong Cricket Association, here today.

Langsning defeated Donkin CC by seven wickets in Group D while Rhinoland were victorious by 77 runs in Group B against Shillong Sixers.

Batting first after winning the toss, Donkin were all out for 110 in 18.1 overs as Krishna Thapa made 35 from 29 balls, while Chengkam Sangma (4/26 in 4 overs) and Aaron AR Nongrum (3/11 in 2.1) were the star bowlers.

Langsning lost three wickets in the chase but completed it in 15.1 overs. Nishanta Chakraborty (52 from 37 deliveries) hit a half-century to propel his team to victory. Agreas Chamcham Sangma returned figures of 2/25 in 4 overs with the ball. Aaron was named Player of the Match.

The other game started with Rhinoland winning the toss and also electing to bat first. They enjoyed their innings out in the middle and put on 184/5 in 20 overs. Priyanshu (no surname provided) and Dhurv Raaj Borah both made 42 runs each, in 28 and 44 balls respectively. Sumeet Gurung took two wickets to fall, finishing with figures of 2/24 in 3 overs.

Shillong Sixers were then restricted to 107/7 in 20 overs, never really getting close to their opponents’ score. Sandeep Roy top-scored with 32 from 36 deliveries, while Mukesh (no surname provided) hit 24 not out in 23. Chirantan Khat put in a match-winning performance with the ball, taking 4/13 in 4 overs for Rhinoland and he was declared Player of the Match.
