Shillong, Aug 19: Meghalaya defeated Chandigarh 2-0 in their opening match of the 65th edition of the Subroto Cup International Football Tournament 2026 at the Ambedkar Stadium in New Delhi yesterday.
Genefa Myrthong and Wandari Rani scored for Meghalaya.
The match was played in Group D of the U-17 girls category. Meghalaya are being represented at the tournament by Little Star Higher Secondary School of Eastern West Khasi Hills, who emerged as the state champions in July.
