Shillong, Aug 27: Tynring and Nongrah both won their respective Shillong Sports Association’s Second Division 2026 matches today by 3-2 margins.

While Tynring defeated Lawsohtun in Group C at the SSA Stadium, Nongrah edged Lumhsyiap at the MFA Ground in Group A.
Lawsohtun had won all three of their previous matches but Tynring pulled out a 3-0 lead thanks to Biangdor Khyriem (27′) and Nelsonroy Mynsong (29′, 58′). Firstmoon Kharkongor (78′) and Damitre Kynting (89′) were able to pull two goals back for Lawsohtun, though that wasn’t enough to prevent defeat.
The other fixture saw two goals in the first two minutes, with Nongrah’s Kerionald Pyngrope (1′) scoring within seconds of kick-off before Mihlang Mynsong (2′) equalised for Lumshyiap. Nathaniel Syiemiong (39′) and Mebanjop Kharpor (59′) then added two more for Nongrah before Lovingstar Kharsyntiew (87′) netted a last one for bottom side Lumshyiap.
There was no change in the standings after today’s matches, though Group C has become exceedingly interesting with three teams tied on 7 points each. Of these, Sohryngkham have the worst goal difference but they have head-to-head advantage over both Umrynjah and Tynring. Between these two, their lone match ended in a draw, so a healthier goal difference means Umrynjah take third spot with Tynring fourth.
In Group A, both Pay For Right Academy and Nongrah now have 4 points but PFR have the better goal difference. H2H doesn’t factor in as these two sides played a draw when they met at the start of the month.
Tomorrow’s fixtures:
Group A – Mawpat vs Marbisu, 12:30PM, SSA Stadium
Group A – Madan SCC vs Pay For Right Academy, 1PM, MFA Ground
