Shillong, Oct 28: Meghalaya’s Ranji Trophy 2026-27 plate group match against Mizoram appears to be heading towards a draw after the latter batted out the whole of Day 3 in Nadiad, Gujarat, today.
Resuming their first innings on 99/2, trailing Meghalaya’s massive total of 562 by 463 runs, Mizoram reached 350/5 at stumps today.
Chinmay Sutar, not out overnight on 34, got to a century before falling to Abhishek Kumar for 125 (12x4s). That was Abhishek’s only scalp of the day but adding his two from yesterday gives him figures of 3/71.
The other two wicket-takers today were Aryan Bora (1/68), who had Manendra Singh out for 37, and Bipin Kumar Ray (1/105), who dismissed Jehu Anderson for 16.
Out in the middle at the end of play on the third day were Joseph Lalthankhuma (70 not out) and Khiangte Vanrotlinga (28 not out).
The match will almost certainly end in a draw tomorrow, the fourth and final day, but Meghalaya still have a chance of grabbing extra points if they can take a first innings lead.
