Shillong, Oct 24: Friends United defeated Galaxy FC 2-1 in their second round match of the 8th Invitation Knockout Football Tournament, organised by Wahiajer SC, today.
Pynhun Suting (41′) and Pormi Ksoo (51′) scored for Friends United before Galaxy got a goal of their own via Wanmi War (70′).
Pynhun was named Player of the Match.
The tournament will now take a bit of a break as the Wahiajer Multi Sports Complex will be used as a venue for Group E matches of the Meghalaya State League 2024. In fact, Wahiajer will host the opening match between 7 Wasa United and Shillong Lajong this Saturday.
The date for the remaining pre-quarter and quarterfinal matches will be announced later.
