Shillong, Dec 10: Defending champions Rymbai Shkenshynriah SC set Sutnga SSCC out of the East Jaintia Hills District Football Association’s Super Division 2024 by winning the Eliminator match 2-1 in Khliehriat today.
Yooluti Dkhar (18′) and Ribiang Dkhar (69′), who are not only team mates but brothers as well, scored for R Shkenshynriah before Raplangki Lyngdoh (85’P) gave Sutnga hopes of a comeback with a late penalty conversion.
R Shkenshynriah will now meet Thangskai Tiger SC in Qualifier 2 on 13th December at 1PM.
The Tigers lost to Dhana CSC in Qualifier 1 yesterday. Shot Swer scored the only goal in a 1-0 result for Dhana in the 63rd minute.
Dhana, who were second in the league stage of the tournament, go straight to the final. Thangskai, who topped the league, get a second chance by meeting the winner of the Eliminator.
R Shkenshynriah had finished third and Sutnga fourth at the end of the league stage.
