Shillong, Jan 25: Rangdajied United FC won 6-0 to leave Nongrim Hills SC battered and bruised in the OC Blue Shillong Premier League 2024 at the SSA Stadium at First Ground, Polo, here today.
The earlier match of the day saw Nangkiew Irat SC split points with Langsning FC following a 1-1 draw.
Rangdajied scored twice in under ten minutes through Owanijuh Pajuh (6′) and Arlangky Nongsiej (9′) and rubbed further salt into Nongrim Hills’ wounds with two more goals in the first half thanks to Dibormi Kassar (26′) and Owanijuh (34′) again.
In the second half, a cross from Aenam Jyrwa was tapped in by Freddy B Jyrwa (68′) before Manbhakupar Iawphniaw (77′) took control of a through ball and ran with it from his own half all the way into the Nongrim Hills box before firing in low past the goalkeeper.
RUFC had also won the reverse fixture on 8th November by the narrower margin of 1-0.
In the first match, Rhitso Mero (70′) scored first for Langsning in his first match for the team. Langsning, who lost the reverse fixture 3-1 on 29th October, looked like they would hold on for the victory but Jefferson Pakyntein (90’+2) delivered the equaliser in stoppage time to the relief of his Nangkiew Irat team mates.
The next OC Blue SPL 2024 match will take place on Tuesday between Sawmer SC and Laitkor SC at 2:30PM. Laitkor had won 2-0 in the first leg on 28th October.
