Shillong, Jul 11: Pommura were knocked out of the Shillong Sports Association’s U-20 Fourth Division 2025 after losing to Mawphlang 2-0 in the final Group D match at the SSA Stadium at First Ground, Polo, here today.
The other match saw Mawkasiang defeat Dilingiem 3-0 in Group C.
Pommura and Laitlulong are tied on 7 points each with head-to-head unable to separate them after they drew 1-1 on 18th June. Before today Pommura were in front on goal difference but the defeat leaves them equal to Laitlulong (+2) on that score too. So, it comes down to goals scored (GF in the points table) and here Laitlulong lead 8 to 5.
Donborlang Nongsiej (1′) scored the fastest goal of the season followed by Wickystar Khongwar (65′) in the second half for Mawphlang, who made it four wins in four outings.
Later, Hame-dao Nongtdu (66′, 74′) produced a brace for Mawkasiang, while Lamshai Jana (71′) scored the other goal. This was Mawkasiang’s fourth win on the trot as well, while Dilingiem end at the bottom of the group with what is their third defeat.
There are only two group games remaining and they will be played tomorrow in Group E where the fight is still on for second place between New Challenger, Mawnianglah and Iateilang of Lamlyer.
