Shillong, Apr 9: Several players of Shillong Lajong and other teams have failed their bone age determination tests, it has been reported in various media.

The tests were carried out prior to the teams’ participation in the All India Football Federation’s U-13 Sub-Junior League.

“Most of the players” of Lajong, Aizawl FC, NEROCA and Minerva Punjab have failed the tests, an AIFF official reportedly told the Press Trust of India, and they will now be barred from taking part in the tournament.

Minerva owner Ranjit Bajaj, never one to shy away from making claims of a conspiracy and who has had plenty of negative things to say about the AIFF, questioned the timing of the announcement and said the governing body was being “vindictive”.

Minerva are the defending champions of the U-13 tournament.
