Shillong, Jun 17: Defending champions Langsning had a stellar day, beating Laban 12-1 in the U-18 Shillong Premier League at Third Ground, Polo, today.
This was easily the most one-sided match this season and the first time that a team scored in double digits.
Ryngkat Rangksai became the third player to score a hat-trick (5′, 38′, 83′), while another three players scored a brace of goals – Bobystar Nongkseh (20′, 88′), Tremiki Lamurong (41′, 45′) and Iaryngkat Kharkrang (62′, 82′). Rikmenlang Nongrum (4′), Sparkle Khongshei (72′) and Badaminot Nongphlang (90′) bagged one each.
Nongrum and Lamurong are now the joint top scorers with five goals each this season.
The lone Laban goal was scored by Solomon Shullai in the 27th minute.
Today’s second match between Nongrim Hills and Nongkrem has yet to conclude.
