Shillong, Jul 23: Three matches were held today in Group B of the Third Division at Second Ground, Polo.
In the first match Nongkseh and Mawnianglah played out a 1-1 draw. Mawnianglah took the lead in the 16th minute via N Nongkhlaw, but Nongkseh found the equaliser in the 70th through N Kharnaior.
The second game saw B Mawrie pump in two goals for Mawshbuit (6’, 50’) before Pohkseh found the back of the net via P Kharkongor in the 59th minute. This was Pohkseh’s first defeat and Mawshbuit’s first win.
Mawtawar then defeated Young XI 2-1 to take first place in the table. Young XI seized the lead in the fourth minute through F Suting, but Mawtawar came back with goals by D Iawphniaw (29’) and L Sanati (64’).
Mawtawar now have 10 points, one ahead of Pohkseh with one round of matches to go.
