Shillong, Jul 27: The final round of matches in Group C of the Third Division were held today at Second Ground, Polo.
In the first game Umlyngka leaped over fellow strugglers Kharang with their first win of the season. E Jyrwa and R Syiemiong scored for Umlyngka in their 2-0 victory.
The second match also ended 2-0, this time in favour of Lapalang over Lumparing. J Khriam (59’) and T Mawlong (64’) were the scorers.
The third game was the big one. Mawpat and Laitlyngkot were tied on 10 points ahead of this game. Mawpat had the better goal difference (+5 to +3) and only needed to draw, but Laitlyngkot proved to be stronger on the day, winning 2-0 thanks to goals from F Kharkongor (38′) and B Rynjah (63′).
