Shillong, Sep 24: The Meghalaya Football Association announced today that two referees from the state – Kulishon Shyrkon (left) and Lightstar Kharduit (right) – have passed the practical and viva-voce sections of the exams to become Cat-2 level referees.

This was confirmed by the All India Football Federation recently.

Shyrkon and Kharduit had passed the physical and written exams a few months earlier.

An individual needs around four years of officiating experience to make it to the national level as Cat-2 referee, the AIFF says on its website.

The exam was held recently at the Lakshmibai National Institute of Physical Education in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh.
