Shillong, Jan 4: Seven Brothers defeated Green Age Club 3-1 in the first match of the new year in the Laitkseh Premier Football Tournament today.
After a goalless first half Bansharai Sun put Seven Brothers into the lead in the 50th minute, with Wallamsuk Nongkhlaw doubled the advantage in the 64th. Bhaboklang Marbaniang, however, pulled a goal back for GAC (79′), but Seven Brothers restored their two-goal margin with a 90th minute goal from Samson Nongrum.
Sun was named man-of-the-match.
Previous matches have seen Ehrngiew beat Khliehmawlieh 2-1, Kith United pip Laitkyrhong 3-2, Assam Regimental Centre defeat Galaxy XI 2-0 and YBSC Shella get the better of Meghalaya Police 6-5 on penalties after full time ended 1-1.
The next match will be between Sehlung FC and Lamare FC on 13th January at 2PM. Ryntih were originally supposed to play Shillong Lajong on that day, but their match has been postponed.
