Shillong, Sep 23: After a fantastic group stage, Meghalaya lost their U-17 girls’ Subroto Cup quarterfinal match 2-0 to Haryana in New Delhi today.
On a sodden pitch and with the rain still coming down, the Meghalaya girls had no answer to clinical Haryana in the morning match.
Meghalaya were represented by Iewrynghep Secondary School at the tournament.
They had topped Pool F with three convincing victories – 3-0 over Mizoram on 19th September, 14-0 against IPSC the day after and 4-0 versus Chandigarh on Wednesday.
The Meghalaya U-14 boys’ team, represented by Roman Catholic Evening Secondary School from Mihmyntdu, had also lost in the quarterfinal round on 11th September.
