Shillong, Jan 21: The office of the Districts Sports Officer of Ri-Bhoi organised the ‘Meghalaya Day Run 2023’ today on the occasion of the 51st statehood day of Meghalaya.
Skhemlang Suba won the men’s event in a time of 23 minutes, 58 seconds, with Monas Bongrung (24:26) second and Lapynkhraw Thabah (25:21) third.
Barisha Khymdeit (33:22) was first in the women’s race, followed by Sildaris Makri (34:04) in second and Joytiful Narlong (36:01) third.
The winners received Rs 7,000, second-placed finishers Rs 5,000 and third-placed runners Rs 3,000.
Andreas Syngkli won the award for oldest participant. He crossed the finish line in 45 minutes, 55 seconds and was awarded Rs 1,000.
The race was run from Dulongnar to Umlyngkdait in Nongpoh.
