Shillong, Oct 23: The group stage of the Shillong Sports Association’s Third Division concluded today with the last two matches played at First Ground, Polo, here.
In Group A, Nongmensong SC defeated Lapalang SC 4-2 after twice coming from a goal down to win.
Lapalang found the back of the net through Meban Chen (24′) and Pleilad Syiemlieh (34′) but on each occasion Nongmensong were able to fight their way back. Kevin Diengdoh (33′) provided their first goal, Kenstar Khonglam (55′) their second and Shemphang Myrthong (70′, 78′) then scored a brace to give his side 3 points.
In the other match, in Group D, Tynring SC defeated Lumdiengjri SC 1-0 with a 14th minute goal from Mariabiang Kharmalki.
