Shillong, Feb 16: Golflink 11 Stars and Lawsohtun CC won the respective finals of the Second and Third Divisions of the Shillong Cricket League here on Thursday.
In the Second Division title match, Golflink won the toss and they opted to bat first but could only post 121/9 20 overs. Ankit Singh Rathor top-scored with 36 from 20 balls. Ajoy Dsas (2/13) and Subham Mishra (2/16) returned the best figures.
In reply, Metallica CA were dismissed for 109 in 20 overs, with Rajiv Thakuri’s 21 from 13 the batting highlight.
Asif (the eventual Player of the Match) nicked 3/23 and Abid Khan 2/13 to win the match by just 12 runs. The Player of the Tournament was Pritam Singh with 168 runs and five wickets in the tournament.
Meanwhile, in the Third Division, Lawsohtun won the toss and chose to field first against Metallica Rising Stars.
MRS were bowled out for 102 in 15.1 overs, with Nabindu Das top-scoring with 64 from just 39 deliveries. Hilar Thabah took 4/32 in 3.1 overs, while Cavin K Wanniang bagged 3/8 in 2 overs.
In the chase, Lawsohtun reached the target for the loss of four wickets. Changtre i Man Lamare scored 52 from 24 balls, while Kynsai Lyngkhoi chipped in with 25 from 36.
Hilar was Player of the Match, while Greatestful Lyngkhoi was the Player of the Tournameet for 138 runs scored and 10 wickets claimed.
All four finalists will be promoted to the division above them next year.
